Mommy & Me/Menu Monday/ Weekend Recap

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We had a great 3 day weekend since the hubby was off of work on Friday. Thursday night we had dinner at one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants.

Onion Creek

 Owen loves pickles! ha

On Friday, we took advantage of the beautiful weather and spent all day outside. It was fantastic. O is absolutely crazy about his Daddy and being outside right now too, so I know he enjoyed every minute of it. After Owen's morning nap (which is usually from 9-11) we picked up Subway, and headed to the park for a little picnic. We fetched with Marley, walked, relaxed (well, as much as you can relax with 10 month old) and ate lunch. O even made a new friend!

Friday evening we picked up food from our favorite Mediterranean spot and after we got baby boy down for the night we caught up on a new episode of the American's. Any one else watching this show?? I wasn't sure if I liked it in the beginning but it's growing on me. It's always nice to have a show that we can enjoy together.

Saturday morning we worked in the yard, or I guess I should say, Clark worked in the yard, and O and I watched. Owen loves standing at the back door watching his Daddy work in the yard.  I also made my favorite green smoothie to date in hopes that it would sort of "balance out" the BBQ I knew we would be indulging in later that day! Hopefully, soon he will be able to enjoy being out back a lot more. The initial work for the deck to begin is finished. (air conditioner moved, ground leveled, siding removed, etc) So it should be getting started soon. Very excited! Owen is already showing signs of being slightly obsessed with being outside..(i.e. screaming and squealing with excitement when we get close to either the front or back door!) so I know this is going to be a great area for us.

I also made my favorite green smoothie to date in hopes that it would sort of "balance out" the BBQ I knew we would be indulging in later that day! (it was a handful of kale/a handful and a half of spinach/1 cup of pineapple chunks +a little juice/ 1 tablespoon of plain greek yogurt/1 banana and a bit of water) Owen actually liked it too. Clark's response when he tried the smoothie, "yea I mean, I don't want to throw up like I thought would," obviously he loved it as well.

Saturday afternoon we headed to Cottonwood- (a great family friendly restaurant) with friends and had BBQ and enjoyed being outside with the kids. If you are in Houston and have kids, or even without kids, you will love this place. They have a  lot of outdoor seating with plenty of space and lots of parking, which is usually really hard to come by around here.

Owen had fun checking out his friends tricycle!

Love this picture because all the Dad's are holding the kids!! That doesn't happen too often! Actually, they're all really helpful so it probably does happen occasionally we just never have a picture of it. Thanks to my friend Monica for snapping the pics!

Sunday was spent doing the usual- cleaning, laundry, a little cooking and just relaxing. It rained most of the day so we weren't able to get out and do a whole lot which led to Owen crawling up the stairs a bajillion times! Lately, it's become quite apparent my baby is becoming much more like a toddler than a little baby, and I will admit it makes me a little sad.

All in all it was great weekend.

As for the Menu this week, nothing too exciting. I am going to be eating simple "clean meals" (courtesy of Megan from Honey We're Home)  as will Clark a few nights, but if you know my husband you know he loves to eat and has a crazy metabolism so he will be having a few different meals, most being easy crock pot recipes.

Chili (for him)/ Grilled Salmon and Veggies (for her)
Pasta Carbonara (for him) Taco Turkey Casserole (for her)
leftovers
V-day Dinner: Pork Tenderloin with Salad and Onion Cheddar Biscuits
brownies and vanilla ice Cream for dessert!
Buffalo Chicken Pizza (Emily Bite's WW friendly)

Thanks to everyone who linked up last week for Mommy and Me. I know with out a doubt I would have fewer pictures of Owen and I if I didn't have this little link up in mind every week, so thanks for sharing this with us!  I hope it has been fun/helpful for others too.

So jealous of your BBQ. I miss me some good BBQ! Californians have no idea what they're missing out on.
Isn't it crazy how much the little ones change (seemingly overnight). All of a sudden my 10 month old is taking steps instead of crawling. What?!
